Who comes out on top for Dentistry degrees in the UK? 

The University of Dundee hold their top spot after storming seven places up the table to number one last year. Universities on the rise include Cardiff University up two into fourth place, and University of Bristol up one place into third. 

Newcomers to the top ten for 2025 include University of Leeds and King's College London. Leeds are up from eleventh place to sixth and King's climb from twelfth to ninth, congratulations to them both.

Studying Dentistry  

You’ll usually need to achieve high grades and show a flair for science to get a place to study dentistry at university. This could range from between 144–168 UCAS points. Related areas such as dental hygiene or technology have lower requirements.

Careers in Dentistry  

Dentistry can be a demanding career so it’s worth doing some work experience to check if it’s right for you. Becoming a student member of the British Dental Association (BDA) will also give you access to its online resources, which offer careers and interview advice.  

Dentists are highly sought after by the NHS at dental practices and in hospitals. You might also find a role with a private dental trust or with the Armed Forces either in the UK or overseas.
